Outing with Family

I love my family!

This is a special month and a special year because my family ate out to celebrate Mother's Day. We did it one day in advance (on Saturday). I proposed that we go to Pizza Company at Sorya Shopping Center. I wished to take my Mum to Sorya because she has never been there before since its establishment. Meng was not yet back from Singapore, so there were only four of us. However, I could see that she was very happy after dining. We did have a great time and planned to have another time after Meng was back. Plan was satisfactorily carried out. Meng came back on 16th and we had another good time with the existence of all family members at Pizza Company Riverside last Saturday.

It was just a start to encourage my Mum to go out more. This year I have brought to her to Chamkar Pring Dream Park, and now to Pizza Company at Sorya Center and River, and I will take her to other places, though not far from Phnom Penh. I am thinking of taking her to Koh Dach. I hope this will succeed soon. ^^

Farewell gathering at Teacher Manashi’s House

Teacher Manashi has been in Cambodia for more than 5 years, and she used to teach me three subjects including English Language Media Studies, Asian and American Literature, and Advanced English Grammar. The courses were fairly difficult, but she still tried to explain the lessons to us.

Receiving the information that she will be leaving Cambodia to Thailand, we felt sad and thought that we should have a farewell party for her before her leaving. After discussion, we finally set the party on last Sunday when we brought some Khmer dessert to her house and chat with her for the last time.
People who went there include Chetra, Sunheang, Mouyhour, Dalin and her husband, Sovanna, Sophorn, Vutha, and me. We stayed until 6 p.m.

She was so moved that I could see tears almost fell from her eyes when we said goodbye to her at the last minute. She is such a friendly and considerate teacher who we really appreciate for her kindness and patience when she taught us.

When there is meeting, there is parting; however, it is important when we can make the time when we were together meaningful.
Students of T. Manashi joined the party. From left to right, Hour, Sunheang, Vutha, Sovanna, me, Dalin and her husband, T. Manashi, and Sophorn. Chetra was not in the picture.

These were the food eaten on the day.

A Long Break

Time is going very fast. I haven’t posted anything for one month! I don’t know if there is someone waiting for my post or not. Maybe not I guess. I may not use ‘busy’ as an excuse for not posting so far. Honestly I will say I am too lazy to post something. Actually I did have many exams at both universities—final exams at RULE and mid-term at UC, which made me almost not able to breathe. The results are not yet revealed yet. So anxious and nervous! There wasn’t any special thing occurred during this period, so I found nothing to write at all.

In this occasion of Khmer New Year, I didn’t enjoy much although I joined some parties. On the 10th, there was a party at RULE which was freely joined by students. My friends and I arrive there at 2:00pm, which is the right time in the schedule. Nevertheless, when we were there, no one was there. So quiet and depressing! We spend three hours waiting for others and the concert, but the program was very late to be processed. Until five, we left the university disappointedly without playing anything or watching any performance. This is the first time we’ve joined the university’s New Year party, but it’s become a very disappointed memory for all of us. On the 12th, Sunday, we had a small gathering at Kea’s house. Chatting and eating are what we usually do, and it really makes us happy and unforgettable. There was another New Year party at UC on the 13th. This one was much better than the one organised by RULE, I will say. However, I don’t really enjoy the party much.

The followings are some photos I took at RULE and UC:

Taken on the 10th at RULEk waiting for the performance!

Another picture!

It's at around 3 o'clock there were not many students coming yet. The musicians are practising the performance!

The students are playing game, banana eating competition!

They are playing Khmer traditional game, Chao Chhuung, this is the girl side!

This is another side, the boys, when they are playing Chao Chhuung!

A very late new year blessing for every readers and friends: Wish you a HAPPY KHMER NEW YEAR and SUCCESS, LUCK, and LOVE all year round!

The Celebration of Kea's Birthday

07/01/2009, afternoon 1:45-5:45pm.

The birthday was celebrated two later than the actual date, 05/01/2009. Though there were only three of us who joint her birthday party, we were extremely excited. We bought the cake for her, and she had also prepared so many snacks for us. As a matter of fact, I was really full that day until 11:00pm at night! A very exciting eating and chatting party, indeed!

This is the cake we bought for Kongkea. Not very big it may look, but we couldn't finish it all!

Kongkea is cutting the cake......for herself!

We tooke the photo when we were ready to return home!

A visit at Tey's House

This is 01/01/2009. Nith, Vin, and I visited Tey at her house after being aparted for almost two years for she has been to Malaysia for her study. In fact, there should be more people to visit her, but plan was changed. At last, there were only three of us. We chatted and took some photos. She is very talkative, so she was the one who talked much. Today she is going back to Malaysia to continue her school life there. I also have to continue mine here in Cambodia. Wish her good luck then!

Christmas party at UC

Christmas song was sung, Christmas cards were exchanged, Christmas gifts were exchanged on the day of Christmas, 25th December. In creative writing class, teacher Gloria organized a class party celebration for Christmas. She offered to make Spaghetti for us. It looked nice and was really delicious. All classmates contributed some money to buy extra food and drink for the party. We had pizza, chicken, and soft drinks. The party started with exchange of Christmas cards we made two days before, and then we prayed for one another, played game, took pictures, and had the meal. Everyone was full and was really enjoying the party. Indeed, we shall never forget.

Farewell Party

Very young she may look, but she is my marketing teacher, Miss Sok Keomony. Today (December 23, 2008) is her last day at UC. Therefore, all of my classmates held a small party for her. We sang several songs and took photos. She is a very good teacher indeed. Her explanation is very clear and pointed with sufficient examples. We love her much. Now she is going to pursue her study abroad in Sydney University, Australia.

Wedding Party

2008-12-22

Keo's aunt's wedding

The wedding was held at the house of the bride's house, in front of Toul Tom Poung Primary School. We enjoyed the occasion very much because it's a time for us to meet and to be together again. Everyone was in their best dress and with the happiest smiling face! We are looking forward to another wedding within our friends so that we can be as happy as we were in this occasion again.
